About Us

The Laurin Baker Group, LLC was formed in 1996 by Laurin M. Baker, a business executive with more than 40 years of experience in government relations, corporate communications and public affairs including positions with several Fortune 500 companies in a variety of locations. The Group develops and implements strategic and tactical advice for organizations seeking to affect public opinion and public policy. The Group represents a variety of industries before the Administration, Congress, and regulatory bodies in such issue areas as international trade, taxation, defense, the environment, and natural resources.

Government at all levels influences your business daily, either positively or negatively.  Decisions made by local, state, federal and international bodies can dramatically impact your ability to conduct your affairs. Too often, those decisions are made without the knowledge or participation of the people who are most affected.

The Laurin Baker Group, LLC, our emphasis is on helping you understand the nature of the decision-making process; anticipating the issues that can impact your organization; and practicing strategic intervention to influence those issues on your behalf.

Our broad range of contacts, developed over many years in Washington, Brussels and state capitols enables us to quickly evaluate issues, and to pinpoint the most effective means of influencing those issues.

We also maintain strategic alliances with top lobbyists and public affairs practitioners around the United States and in Europe to provide cost-effective resolutions to your problems, no matter where they are.

Although we have the ability to be effective on a broad range of issues, The Laurin Baker Group, LLC has particular expertise in the fields of manufacturing issues, the environment, taxation, defense, international trade and natural resources.

The Laurin Baker Group, LLC also has expertise in communications and public affairs.  We are particularly skilled at helping organizations develop and implement communications strategies to ensure that all stakeholder audiences are informed on issues of importance to them.  The reason: informed audiences make better decisions, and can be much better allies.
